Loving and Reasoning

I wish I could say it’s always a simple, straight-forward thing – interacting with other human beings, while dealing with my own day-to-day struggles.

But I know I can’t.

Uncertainty follows me wherever I turn in this unexplored territory. “How best to love?” – my heart pounds. “What to trust?” – my mind interjects as I try to look at my problem from every possible angle.

God, show me the line where my mediation ends and Yours continues on – undaunted, uncompromised.

In mending bridges and making headway in relationships or callings, may manufacturing and manipulating be far from me.

Help me to remember that I can continually turn to You for everything I need, for myself and for those around me.

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” ~ 1 Timothy 2:5&6

“When you teach a child writing, you hold its hand while it forms the letters: that is, it forms the letters because you are forming them. We love and reason because God loves and reasons and holds our hand while we do it.”
~ C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
